On 29 March 2021, the Royal Albert Hall marked its 150th anniversary with a one-off digital performance by Imogen Heap, recorded in the empty auditorium. Blending history with innovation, the piece features improvised elements from Sir Michael Costa’s Biblical Cantata - the first work ever performed at the Hall - reimagined through Imogen’s signature sound and experimental process. Performing on her custom perspex grand piano and using Mi.Mu gloves to control sound and light in real time, the Ivor Novello and Grammy-winning artist transforms the space into a haunting, immersive experience that bridges past and future.
